The concept of Locum’s Nest came from our determination and conviction to solve the staffing puzzle for professionals and organisations alike whilst working on the front line as Junior Doctors. We experienced first-hand how hospitals and practices had to dedicate so much time in arranging cover to resource patient care, and not forgetting the drain it proved on precious, limited finances.

A platform conceived by people with a vast experience in healthcare design
In my 20-year career as a Creative Director, having worked on some of the UK’s biggest digital projects such as the overhaul of NHS’ 111, I came to understand that for any product to be truly effective, it has to be accessible to all users - new and existing, young and old. Sounds fairly straightforward but, in reality, it is probably one of the hardest things any product team has to face – a never-ending cycle of thinking, testing, building and learning.

Throughout my career I’ve worked with scaling tech companies of all sizes, in both the UK and the US, managing and mentoring expanding technology businesses. I’ve also seen the benefits a government can reap from well executed technology projects. As Chief Operating Officer for the UK Government, I was overseeing the consolidation of the Government’s vast web complexity (132,000 URLs) into the single gateway of GOV.UK. I am excited that Locum’s Nest is already saving NHS Trusts millions of pounds to enhance front-line services with a positive impact for patients.
