Two weeks. Four launches.

It’s been an exciting start to the year here at Locum’s Nest as in only two weeks we have launched in 3 new NHS Foundation Trusts and nearly 100 GP Practices, providing clinicians using Locum’s Nest with increased flexibility of work scope and workload.

Dr Nicholas Andreou, Co-Founder of Locum’s Nest says, “These new partnerships will, like all our existing ones, save millions each year whilst at the same time deliver better service to their clinicians, their admin staff and of course their patients!”

Here’s a little bit about our new partners…

Southend University Hospital NHS FT

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has a history of innovation and is recognised by the Care Quality Commission for its quality of service provision and excellent use of resources. The Trust has around 4,500 staff and serves a local population of over 330,000.

48 hours after the launch across all departments and the results were already outstanding:

  • over 300 shifts filled

  • 2,800 hours of patient care delivered by non-agency, local doctors

Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS FT

Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust primarily provides services for 405,000 people living in south-west Essex covering Basildon and Thurrock, together with parts of Brentwood and Castle Point. Last year the Trust treated 77,500 inpatients and day patients, provided nearly 300,000 outpatient appointments and attended to 103,000 patients in accident and emergency.

Incredible results since launching across all departments and specialities:

  • over 600 shifts published to over 25,000 users

  • 3,460 hours of patient care delivered

Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS FT

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was formed in October 2019, following the merger of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Service NHS Trust, to provide joined up physical health, mental health and learning disability services.

We are proud to be partnering with the Trust to help provide outstanding mental health care both in hospital and in the community. Our work with the Trust centres around the formation of a sustainable long-term workforce through a combination of increased staff engagement, growth of the Staff Bank and increased bank fill-rates.

Cambridge & Peterborough Training Hub

The aim of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Training Hub is to support the delivery of a primary care workforce, capable of meeting the needs of the local population’s health. That represents 1 million patients across the whole county!

This will be achieved through the recruitment of new staff into General Practice; the retention of existing staff through development, training and up-skilling and development of new roles within the primary care health community. We’re excited to be working together to help achieve the above aims, boost staffing levels and morale as well as reduce agency reliance and spend.

By co-developing innovative technologies, we and our partners are more committed than ever to address the healthcare staffing crisis.
