📝 New Feature: Internal Shift Notes! 📝

✅ You can add internal notes to any shift for various purposes.

📹 Use it to record shift posting reasons, reasons for rejecting the shift, for no longer needing it or any other needed internal information.

💡 These notes are visible to all who have access to view the shift from the web app

Things to note:

⏰ Each note is timestamped with your name for accurate tracking.

🚫 Notes cannot be deleted.

📝 If you wish to issue an amendment, create a new note

💡 These notes will be recorded on the shift's audit trail.

💡 If you’re posting multiple shifts at once you will get the option of cloning the note you’re making across all shifts


📢 Subtle change on the Rate Indication on the mobile app’s Shift Cards! 🎉

We've made a subtle change to how we display the rate indication on the worker’s shift card 🔄 💼

What’s changed 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️✨

The indicative pay rate may show ‘Up to’ as a prefix on shift cards. This is to indicate that there may be variations depending on the way the rate may vary as the shift progresses and/or the worker’s grade/band.

🔍 Under the hood: Workers will see ‘up to’ in the following cases 👀💡

✨ If a shift has a variable rate based on the time of the date

✨ If a shift’s pay rate varies depending on a worker’s grade or band. When they go in the shift’s details they will now see the lowest grade/band shown first

✨ If a shift’s pay has a fixed element (i.e non resident) and an hourly rate for its resident elements. We will only display the highest non resident element without attempting to estimate the hourly rate elements


🚀 Introducing Retrospective Shift Booking! 🚀

To ensure the submission of adhoc timesheets are only used in exceptional cases, we are excited to introduce the functionality which allows you to create shifts retrospectively in Locum’s Nest

✅ Depending on your system permissions (driven by your organisation’s policy) you can now create shifts retrospectively in Locum's Nest.

✅ Book workers onto bank shifts in the past for shifts which may not have been advertised in time

✅ Available immediately!

Good practice guidelines:

📢 Always try to advertise bank shifts in advance.

⏰ Always approve healthcare workers before shift start date.

💼 This ensures accurate cost centre reporting, ensures correct rates are applied and reduces payroll/financial reporting errors.

Creating Retrospective Shifts:

🕑 Only post shifts in the past on the rare occasions when the shift is not on Locum's Nest (e.g., out of hours).

✅ Use "Got Someone in Mind”, otherwise known as ‘pre-match’ feature to match the worker to the shift.

About multiple overlapping applications

✅ To increase their chances of finding a shift at their preferred date and times, some HCPs choose to hedge their bets by applying to multiple shifts overlapping the same time period.

However, the platform will only allow:

❌ A candidate to be accepted onto one shift within the same time period.
❌ Once accepted for a shift, any other applications which may overlap with that same time period will be automatically rejected. If you have any questions, please reach out to our support team at support@locumsnest.co.uk.

👀 Attract more candidates by signposting the escalation to all candidates and to payroll
