We recently had a great conversation with Emily James, Service Support Manager for Medical Rotas at University Hospitals Dorset . With a career journey that began in the travel industry before a pivot to the NHS during the pandemic, Emily brings her love of problem-solving to workforce operations.

From her early days in maternity reception to developing the rota function for Medicine, Emily shares her insights on the many roles of the rota management team, the importance of pastoral care for doctors, and how her team uses data to move from reactive firefighting to proactive planning.
